Awning design removal

We recently purchased a building with 2 new awnings. As you probably know replacing them becomes really pricey really quickly... They are in great shape only a year or two old. The problem is there is a screen printed or vinyl lettered logo on both of them and we would like it removed. I have seen them removed before and in some situations you will will still see the outlay because the fabric under it is not bleached by the sun... That would even be ok...

The questions is can it be steamed off? Is there some sort of solvent that would remove it and not harm the fabric? is there some other magic way of safety removing it?

I ask because store fronts change owners all the time, there has to be an inexpensive way of changing or simply removing lettering and/or logos from a standard canvas awning.

Please advise,
