Chain-Drive drop screens are becoming a very effective way to keep out bugs.  They cover an opening up to 18' wide with a 9' drop.  Glide Screen has a system that uses a 45 degree reverse brush in the side rails to keep moderate winds from blowing the screen fabric out.  This system works well on garage doors as well.  Shade fabric is available for some applications. www.glidescreen.com
